S O P H I S T I C A T I O N ¦ formal shoes for events this winter.

Hello again!

This blog is going to be on formal shoe wear for all those christmas parties and dinners and just any formal occasion in general, that will be going on this winter!.

The key styles to go for are a class round toe, a pointed toe (don't fret!) and an ever trendy brogue.

The colour ways to look out for are deep blacks, dark , rich chocolatey browns, navy's with depth and cool greys.

You also have to think about textures. These are incredibly important to make an outfit cohesive or stand out! but in the right way. The textures to go for this season are matte, hi-shine, two tone and suede.

What this blog post will give you is an insight into the styles and price range that are out there. Im just going by how much i would pay for a pair of smart shoes. But obviously quality comes with the price so that has to factor in too.

You may have also noticed that i havent been including huge designer names into my blog posts and that's not to say i don't love what they are coming up with. But these always filter down to the high-street so you can pay less for the upcoming trends. I want what i feature to be affordable for all but im not ruling out future posts on designers and their artistry because i do plan to include them!

but yes look great for less is my motto hah but i always think key capsule  items from luxury brands are great to have and that wont fall our of style. e.g a timeless suit, a classic coat, a pair of shoes, a wallet etc

anyway onto the blog! in no particular order.

I saw these in the store and i thought how high-end they look. They felt nice on the feet and i love the two-tone of brown and black, kind of a rich coffee hue. They are also functional. You're at an event, drinking and dancing etc. You get home and you can just slip them right off and leap on the sofa..you don't have the fuss of laces to fiddle with so wahey.

I also like how they have introduced brogue like features to these shoes so an additional quirk is added. And this makes a great detail. I also like the point of this shoe as it's not too much

If you go for detailed shoes like brogues. ALWAYS go for a simpler suit. A dark grey slim suit with a plain white fitted shirt would look great with these shoes. Team it with a brown belt and skinny tie of choice to up the amp.

Flatty Wing cap £38
A great one tone shoe. Tiny detailing accents it great and i like the rounded toe here. The burst of red inside is great. Makes this shoe even more attractive. These colour is like a dark bark tone and i think the laces suit this shoe perfectly.

As the shoe is 'plainer' you can go for more detail. A skinny navy suit, white shirt and bergundy tie (which is also a key colour this A/W) you could even go for a bolder red tie. Or even change up the shirt colour or pattern. There are great paisley prints and cooler aztec prints to go for! suiting is becoming a lot more edgier.

I'll do a suiting post soon!

These classic black brogues have a nice twist with contrasting laces. I also like the shine to these. A brogue is always great and is pretty much wearable in every season in my honest opinion.

But as there is a shine. A matte suit is the best way to go. Some cheaper matte suits still have some sheen in them but thats better then the much more shinier or metallic like suits you can get!

A matte black suit with a grey or white shirt would look good. or even a darker grey slim/skinny fit with a deep black belt would be very suarve!

Look at these beauties. They are your perfect essential formal footwear key piece addition to your wardrobe gents. The colour is oxblood which is a dark brown with a touch of red. Its a great colour that goes well with other colours. I especially like the darker accents of the lace and toe panelling. A really nice touch!

Team these guys with a dark navy suit or charcoal for your events this winter! or slightly going off this season, beige linen bottoms and a simple white shirt. anyhow! we love these..wish they were a tad cheaper though but for shoes of this quality you can't really complain. RIVER ISLAND

Special pick from RI this blog post. I love this deep navy shoe which is so versatile. It's simple and effortless.

Put this with a dark suit and printed shirt and you're good to go! or a skinny light grey suit with a bold belt colour choice like a red or if thats too much for you, burgundy! You could even go bold with a skinny red suit. But remember it;s the little details that make the difference with suiting.

BURTONS

Formal Patent £28 bargain!
When i see formal shoes with this hi-shine finish..i am scared to wear them haha. These are so classic and timeless. They make me think of these extravagant dinner parties in the 40's/50's where decadence oozed and style was at it's most sophisticated. So effortless.

The modern take on this is that they arent polished all over, they are a contrast of matte and gloss finish which is so contempory.

I'd keep it simple and wear a black suit but fitted with a white shirt and black tie. Id focus on adding a handkerchief to the front pocket but making that a key colour. Navy to tone down, Red to tone up. Or add an IKAT or aztec print for edge.

Formal Pointed £28 Bargain x 2!

Grey Shoes make every ince of suiting contemporary. They are a great twist on a classic black shoe and pretty much go with everything.

you could team this with a full great suit. ( you might be like wtf here) but i think it's ok as long as you have a statement tie or shirt etc. i think it can look really cool and fresh and make you look every inch a dapper chap.

SO thats this post over.

I hope these posts are of some use for you guys who read it!

Please help to spread my blog. Would really appreciate it.

All the best.
